Therapy for Substance Use Disorders and Behavioral Addictions

Substance Use Disorder treatment at Central Arkansas Group Counseling is intended to help addicted individuals stop compulsive drug seeking and use. Treatment can occur in a variety of settings, take many different forms, and last for different lengths of time. Because drug addiction is typically a chronic disorder characterized by occasional relapses, a short term, one-time treatment is usually not sufficient. For many, treatment is a long-term process that involves multiple interventions and regular monitoring. If you are struggling with substance use or behavioral addictions, our team can help you in our office located in Benton, Conway, North Little Rock, and our newest location in Springdale. Contact us today to learn more or schedule an appointment.

Do I Have an Addiction?

If you answer yes to any of the following questions, you may be struggling with addiction:

  • Do you prioritize drugs over other time and financial commitments?
  • Does the perceived reward you experience from drug use make it difficult for you to recognize consequences of drug use?
  • Does drug use make it impossible for you to keep up with your commitments to family, friends, work, or education?
  • Have you ever decided to stop drug use, but the anxiety of not using drugs makes it difficult or impossible for you to stick with your decision?
  • Do you purge yourself of drugs only to revert back to the old behaviors and binge?

How Can Addiction Therapy Help Me Through Recovery?

The main goal of addiction therapy is to help patients maintain their sobriety, and to develop the skills to tackle relapse head on. Some of the ways that ongoing therapy can help you through addiction include:

  • Teach people to recognize and avoid triggers.
  • Develop skills to cope with stress and cravings.
  • Avoid relapse and maintain sobriety.
  • Reroute the award center of the brain to areas other than drug use.

Should I Join an Addiction Group?

Group counseling can be a great option for patients struggling with addiction. Many of these patients believe they are alone or feel too embarrassed by their behaviors to seek the help that they need. During addiction group meetings, patients hear from others who have been through similar circumstances, so they know others understand and empathize with their situation. We offer regular substance abuse education and treatment group sessions online. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team to discuss whether group therapy is a good option for you.

What Happens During Addiction Counseling?

If you choose to work one-on-one with counselors for addiction therapy, they will partner with you on your journey to sobriety. During your time in the office, you should feel free to broach any topic you think is important to your sobriety, including regrets, emotions, dilemmas, and aspirations. We will also work with you to set achievable goals for yourself to stay healthy, sober, and happy.

How Much Does Addiction Therapy Cost?

Our one hour individual therapy sessions are typically billed at $120. Our three hour substance abuse group is $75. We are happy to process insurance claims to help keep the cost of therapy affordable. We can also help you budget for treatment with financing options. Please call our business office team to find out more.
